Guidance for Module Reps
Giving feedback to your lecturer
Make yourself known to the lecturer early in the course. If your lecturer is doing something that the cohort likes, great! Let the lecturer know so they know to keep it up. If your lecturer could be doing something better, get some feedback from the others in the course. Make sure this is constructive – if you just say someone is bad they’re not going to be inclined to help!
Checking in with your Year Rep
We’re all busy but if you don’t tell your reps about issues then they won’t know and so won’t be able to help. A quick message once a week or so just updating your reps on any issues is fine.
Issues with your module
See if you can get the lecturer to solve the problems – easiest for everyone. You can discuss ideas with the rest of the people in the course for suggestions.
If that doesn’t work, see the list below for who to contact. When you contact them, include this information:
- What the issue is
- What you have discussed with the lecturer
- Any steps that have been taken to fix the problem
- Be specific: e.g. try to include dates of when things were released/should have been released/when coursework is due/when it’s been pushed to etc.
Who to contact
-
Contact your lecturer first!
-
If they don’t resolve your problem, get in contact with your Year Reps immediately.
- Do not wait until the end of term! By then it will be too late. Your reps are here to help – use them.

If your Year Reps can’t help, contact the Year Coordinator:
